Robin
Wenrick
Robin Wenrick graduated from UCLA in Fine Arts with a major in Dance
and moved to New York to pursue a professional career as a modern
dancer. She led a successful career touring the world performing
with RUSH DANCE/Art team. This company combined Art and technology
and collaborated with engineers from MIT and well known performing
artists from around the world. As well as being an active dancer
with the company she was also a Line Producer for many of the films
the company produced. This experience led her out of dancing to
pursue a career in the Bay Area where she worked at ELECTROGIG,
a Dutch 3D Software company.
She further developed her skills with interactive technologies for
nearly 5 years as part of an interdisciplinary team at Interval
Research led by S. Joy Mountford. Robin led and conducted many user
studies during her tenure with Interval Research. She was part of
the team responsible for developing a series of hand-held hardware
and software prototype devices for the Experience Music Project.
This device is now part of the museum's audio experience. She is
interested in furthering the relationship between art and technology
in particular for performance-based installations.
